DIVALI (UWI 2009)
i'm watching the clock right now, waiting for 3:30pm to come. i have to check out an apartment and go to a Divali programme on campus.
Emm gave me the # for this apartment which is a damn sight closer to campus.it's also $100. less. it's got air conditioning and is fully furnished. sounds better than the other apartment i was gonna take.
one thing though.it's a studio apartment. i don't know how i feel abt cooking and sleeping in the same area. esp. if i cook and stink up my whole apartment and then have to sleep!!
but i'm a check it out first then decide.
i have to go to the divali programme on cmapus also. Phaedra wants me to come. and plus i want to bling out my pwetty pink shalwar that i payed a shitload of $$$ for.
i wore it once to a wedding, but i think it's the right occasion to bring it out again.
i love divali....so much colour and culture and yummy indian food all round.....
Divali is called the festival of lights. cause of all the little deyas that are lit. deyas are little clay bowls that are filled with oil and a cotton wick is placed in them and are lit.
it's to symbolize good overevil...light over darkness...it's actually a historical festival...in Hinduism.....the people of Ayodha lit deyas along the road to light Lord Rama's way in the darkness.
Anyway enough explaining...i'm just happy i get to see my friends AGAIN!!
